Karen Knippen has been a leader in the insurance industry for more than 40 years. Karen joined Euclid Insurance Services in October of 1979. She created and developed new services and products to be distributed through the independent agency system. Under her guidance, Euclid Managers has emerged as a premier General Agency for group health and ancillary products; individual life and health products; and long-term care products. Her many successes include agreements with UnitedHealthcare, MetLife, Delta Dental, NortonLifeLock, and HealthiestYou, making Euclid Managers a valued resource for insurance brokers. As President, Karen created the General Agent template to become a model UnitedHealthcare G.A. She is a member of UnitedHealthcare’s General Agents National Advisory Council. Karen’s leadership and experience have extended beyond her Euclid Managers role to encourage and support the brokers and agents who are the lifeblood of the industry. She is a founding member and Past President of the DuPage Association of Health Underwriters and has held various additional board positions over the years. Karen received C&NIAHU’s Edward H. O’Conner Memorial Distinguished Service Award in 2004 and mentored Euclid Managers to receive C&NIAHU’s Lloyd M. Rice Memorial Distinguished Company Award in 1996, 2005, 2009, and 2012. Karen is an inaugural member of the NAHU Platinum Advisor Summit. The Advisory Summit was formed in August 2015 and is comprised of the top agents from around the country. Karen is also a member of the NAHU General Agency Principals Council which includes the most senior executives in larger general agencies.
